Rajendra RE wins in a last mile thriller




The overall championship tag which was open till the last round, carried the excitement till the last mile and minute as the fight for supremacy between the Petronas TVS Racing teammates was decided in the last stage where Rajendra Edged out his teammate Tanveer in the final stage of the MRF Rally of Coimbatore 2024.




Overall:

The winner of this event will carry the 2024 crown, keeping this in view were the three Petronas TVS Racing riders entered the fray, but the first round winner Samuel was not in form right from the very first stage, the battle line was drawn between Rajendra RE and Abdul Wahid Tanveer. Tanveer got off to a good start and had gained about 10sec lead till the final fourth stage, but the fall on a right hander took away the lead.. Thus the final stage belonged to Rajendra who was faster by 13sec, giving him a lead of 3sec to take home this second INRC title. After losing most of his time in the final two stages Samuel finished third with a difference of 1min 18sec.

Mysuru's Nataraj R supported by VM Sports Foundation finished fourth with 1min 7sec difference, Petronas TVS Racing's Imran Pasha with a 29sec difference settled for fifth, Arun T from Hero MotoSports with 16sec difference finished sixth, the further two placings were bagged by the Petronas TVS Racing riders Sachin D in seventh and Banteilang Jyrwa in eighth. Karan Kumar from Hero Motosports stood ninth, while Naresh VS supported by VM Sports Foundation finished tenth.  




Super Bike Pro Expert GroupA:

The top three finishers in the class were the toppers in the overall classification. All the four riders were from Petronas TVS Racing, Rajendra was the winner of the class followed by Tanveer in second and Samuel Jacob completed the podium. The lone lady rider Aishwarya Pissay who was part of the class stood fourth and 19th overall.




Super Bike Expert GroupA:

VM Sports Foundation supported rider Nataraj R from Mysuru was the winner of the class and the championship, it was his second straight championship win, while his teammate Naresh VS riding a just purchased imported bike entered directly in this rally without any practice and managed to finish second with a difference of 2min 26sec, with a 42 sec difference the privateer from Bengaluru Amogh Nag completed the podium, the championship front runner Asad Khan from Chikkamagaluru had to settled for fourth with further 3sec difference.

Supersport 165 GroupB:

Abdul Raheman from Shivamogga with a lead of 11sec managed to win the class and championship, while Bharath L from Bengaluru finished second, Varun Kumar A also from Bengaluru managed to hold on to the podium with a difference of 33sec and a lead of just below 3min on the fourth finisher Vishnu Sachin Jith from Thrissur, Chalass K Bose from Kottayam finished fifth and Yogesh P from Bengaluru finished sixth.

Supersport 260 GroupB:

While the championship was open as Imran Pasha and Arun T where in contention. Imran Pasha from Petronas TVS Racing dominated the rally right from the start and had gained about 18sec lead in the very first stage and there on Arun T from Hero MotoSports did manage to strike back with two fastest stages, but Imran never let anything go out of hand and with a lead of over 16sec he managed to win the rally and as well as the championship, while Arun T finished second, Sachin D from Petronas TVS Racing finished on podium in third position with a difference of 52sec. His teammate Banteilang Jyrwa missed the podium with four seconds deficit, Karan Kumar from Hero Motosports finished fifth with 31sec difference. Kali Mohan from Petronas TVS Racing finished in sixth position.

 

Supersport 400 GroupB:

Rajesh Narajan Swami from Raigad was the winner of the event, he had already sealed the championship. Localite Venu Ramesh Kumar finished in second position with a difference of over 3min, Rajesh Kumar R from Bengaluru with 6min 10sec difference finished third.

Supersport 550 GroupB:

Suhail Ahmed had already won the championship before he could come into this final round. He won the class with a total time of 1hr 1min 50sec, Sinan Francis from Ernakulam was the first runner-up with a difference of 10sec, Bengalurian Suhas S finished third with a 2min 35sec difference, Sharath Kumar S from Bengaluru was fourth and Arun Joy M finished fifth with a difference of 13 and 18sec respectively.

 




Scooter class upto 210cc GroupB: Syed Asif Ali from Petronas TVS Racing by winning this rally with a difference of 45sec over his second finisher teammate Karthik N backed his back to back championship wins.

 




Ladies class GroupB: Tanika Shanbhag from Hero Motosports was the winner of the class and the championship, she was followed by Privateer Tanaya Singh in second.

Superstock upto 450 GroupD:

Shivam Thakur from Kullu was the winner of the class with 17sec difference over the second finisher Pradeep C from Bengaluru, Saravan Kumar K from Coimbatore finished behind him in third with a difference of 1min 51sec. Bengalurians Goutham Rao  and Abhishek J finished in fourth and fifth position. While AJ Jose from Cochin finished sixth.

 

Star of Coimbatore:

S Ricarius was the winner of the class with a lead of 27sec on the second finisher Tharun Rinaldo D, as G Elango finished third with 15sec difference. Vikram K finished fourth as Abhishek Shivakumar finished in fifth and S Shankar was sixth.
