Chennai, October 5: Rahil Pillarisetty from Hyderabad and local ace, Jagathishree Kumaresan achieved a double apiece in their respective categories to finish the fourth round of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2025 on a high at the Madras International Circuit.
Girls (Stock 165cc):
Having crashed on the out-lap during the qualifying session this morning, defending champion Jagathishree could not set a time and started the race last on the 13-bike grid. But the 21-year-old put in a sensational ride that saw her cut through the field and move into the lead in just three laps and then hold position over the next two for a superb win, her fifth in a row. To top it, she earned a bonus point for the fastest lap of the five-lap race to consolidate her position on top of the leader board.
Following her across the finish line were two other Chennai riders, former champion Ann Jennifer (Motul Sparks Racing) who had started from pole position and Rakshitha Dave (RACR Castrol Power1). “Though I started last, I was confident of getting on the podium. I had a good bike, but the credit goes to our mechanics who repaired the bike and made it ready for the race in just a couple of hours after this morning’s crash,” said Jagathishree.
Jagathishree had a big crash in the final lap in race2, exiting Turn-2. Ann Jennifer, who was following closely, also fell when the front wheel washed away. The red flags came out immediately to stop the race. Jagathishree and Ann Jennifer retained their first and second spots ahead of another former champion Lani Zena Fernandez (RACR Castrol Power1) from Puducherry, based on their track positions at the finish line in the lap before the red flag. The 21-year-old Jagathishree, thus, finished the weekend with a grand double which helped her to extend her championship lead over Ann Jennifer by 28 points in provisional standings.

27-year-old Rahil Pillarisetty from Hyderabad had a surprisingly comfortable victory in a race that was red flagged after four of the scheduled six laps were completed following a big crash involving Bengaluru’s Chiranth Vishwanath (Petronas TVS Racing) who, though, walked away unhurt.
It was a significant win for Rahil as he pulled away from his nearest rival, 18-year-old Sarthak Chavan (Petronas TVS Racing) from Pune in the championship standings. Sarthak was forced to run wide to avoid a contact with veteran Rajini Krishnan (RACR Castrol Power1) when running second. Though he recovered to regain P2 spot, Rahil had opened a huge lead. Worse still for Sarthak, his airbag got deployed, forcing him on the grass and kicking up mud on the track. Chiranth, following him, skidded on the dirt and crashed, leading to the stoppage. Sarthak finished second, ahead of Rajini Krishnan who was later disqualified for a “technical infringement”, thus elevating Rakshith Dave (Petronas TVS Racing) to P3.
Rahil, who has now emerged as the lead rider in the RACR Castrol Power1 team, it was one of his best weekends of the season as he outpaced his arch-rival and Pune teenager Sarthak Chavan (Petronas TVS Racing) who struggled to even keep the Hyderabad star in his sights, much less overtake. Much of their battle was fought and won in the first lap when the duo swapped the lead no less than six times before Rahil managed to open a slender lead that he increased to over three seconds when he took the chequered flag. In the provisional standings, Rahil leads Sarthak by 21 points going into the final round.
“It was a tough first lap. Sarthak and I overtook each other six times. But towards the end of the lap, I managed to keep my P1 position. Thereafter, I gradually increased the lead and won. Though I won by three seconds, it wasn’t easy. Happy to be finally fighting for a championship after the Novice (Stock 165cc) title in my debut season (2017). Overall, a difficult weekend during which I spent sleepless nights thinking about the races. So, I put a lot of pressure on myself, but happy to come through with two wins,” said Rahil.

Bengalurian Varun Patil from Mad Rabiit Racing finished in third position.
Varun Patil, a 36-year-old civil lawyer from Bengaluru, for whom racing is a hobby, profited when the two front-runners, Jagadeesh Nagaraj and Mohamed Mikhail, crashed in the last lap. The incident put Patil in the lead which he maintained to the finish line for his third win of the season. Lupin Takkalappali from Hyderabad (MAI Racing) finished second while Jammu's Raivat Dhar ( MAI Racing ) completed the podium. “I inherited this victory when the two riders in front crashed when I was running third,” admitted Patil.
