Tanveer wins season opener


Defending champion Tanveer from Mysuru representing Petronas TVS Racing was the winner of the season opener - Rally of Chikmagalur, R1 of MRF Mogrip FMSCI National Rally Championship - 2W, 2022 promoted by Godspeed Racing held at the foothills of Mullayanagiri within Coffee estates in Chikkamgaluru, the Coffee Hub of India. Tanveer and his teammates riding a TVS Apache RTR450 managed to finish in top three, Samuel Jacob finished second with 1min 1sec difference, Nataraj completed the podium with a further difference of 26sec. Rajendra RE one of the front runner, hit a tree and lost about 3min in the second stage and had to finish fourth and his another teammate Imran Pasha finished fifth with the top five finish for his team.


Super Bike Pro Expert class, Abdul Wahid Tanveer was the winner followed by Samuel in second and Nataraj finished third, Rajendra RE completed in fourth position, while Yuva Kumar finished fifth.


Expert Bike Expert class Group A, Sarath Mohan riding a Husqvarna 450 topped the class followed by Sinan Francis in second position with a difference of 1min 54sec, localite Asad Khan finished third with a further difference of 1min 43sec. Tanika Shanbhag from Satara riding a Husqvarna TE350 with a further difference of 24sec missed the podium to finish in fourth, while Jatin Jain from Nagpur finished fifth with a further difference of 38sec.


Supersport 130 Group B, Chalass K Bose from Kottayam riding a Honda Stunner managed to hold on to the class in top position, Anoop Manjappa from Bengaluru also riding a Honda Stunner finished second with 1min 44sec deficit, Localite Dilip Raj riding a Honda 130 finished third with further 3min 33 sec difference.


Supersport 160 Group B, Localite Francis PV riding a Hero Impulse won the class with a margin of 17sec over the second finisher Sasi Kumar K from Coimbatore, with a further difference of 2min 35sec Shabuddin Sayed finished third. Goutham Rao finished fourth with 50sec difference and Akhil Joy with further 19sec difference finished fifth.


Supersport 260 Group B, Imran Pasha from Petronas TVS Racing was the winner of the class with a total time of 57min 01sec, his teammate Sachin D with 2min 19sec difference settled for second position, Adnaan Ahamed from Mangaluru was further slower by 47sec to finish in third position. Karan Kumar M from Coimbatore and Sathyaraj Arumugam finished in fourth and fifth position with a further difference of 3sec and 1min 27sec.


Super sport 400 Group B, Bengaluru boy Mohammed Zaheer riding a KTM Adventure with a total time of 1hr 4min 32sec was the winner followed by Venu Ramesh Kumar from Coimbatore in second position with a difference of 2min 47sec, Vinit Sharma from Indore finished third with a further difference of 4sec. Hansraj Saikia from Guwahati with 54sec difference was fourth and Ashwin Anantha Raju was further slower by 7sec to settle for fifth position.


Supersport 550 Group B, Naresh VS from Bengaluru by clocking 1hr 04min 24sec was the winner followed by Arun Joy from Cochin in second position with a further difference of 18sec, Jeemon Antony also from Kerala finished third with a further difference of 12sec. Both Sarath Kumar and Abhijeet Sarkar from Bengaluru, finished in fourth and fifth position.


Group B Ladies class, defending class champion Aishwarya Pissay from Petronas TVS Racing was the winner with a total time of 1hr 07min 23sec, Apoorva B from Mangaluru was 6min 41sec slower to finish second, Fazeela U from Ernakulam was further 18sec slower to complete the podium. Ryhana Bee from Chennai with further 6sec difference was fourth and Sameera Dahiya from Bengaluru with further difference of 11min 39sec stood fifth.


Scooter upto 210cc Group B, Shamim Khan from Petronas TVS Racing was the winner with a margin of 1min 33sec over his teammate Subramanya T, Pinkesh Thakkar from Aprilia JB Racing managed to be on the podium in third position with a further difference of 28sec. Goutham N and Venkatesh Shetty finished in fourth and fifth position.


Superstock upto 450 Group D, Bengaluru boys dominated the podium, Sanjay Somashekar was the winner with a margin of 4min 27sec over second finisher Vivek Vijayan, Suchith Kumar Reddy finished third with a further 1min 39sec difference. With 3min 20sec difference Bharath P was fourth and Prabhakaran S from Chikkamagaluru finished fifth.
