KTM’s Shlok Ghorpade tops MRF Mogrip Supercross Nationals

KTM Factory Racing rider Shlok Ghorpade won both motos in the SX1 (Group A) up to 500cc class at the MRF Mogrip FMSCI National Supercross Championship 2025 held at Budhapara Stadium, Raipur, on Sunday. The victory marked a strong return for the 18-year-old from Pune, who missed part of the season due to injury.

Bengaluru’s Prajwal Vishwanath of Petronas TVS Racing and teammate, Ikshan Shanbhag (Satara) finished second and third overall respectively, while championship leader Pune’s Rugved Barguje retained his lead with 134 points, followed by Shanbhag (131).

The event was promoted by Godspeed Racing under the aegis of FMSCI, organised by the Western India Sports Association and Chhattisgarh Motor Sports Association (CGMSA). The event attracted over 50,000 spectators combined for two-days.

CGMSA President Ujjwal Deepak said hosting the Nationals showcased the state’s growing motorsport culture and road safety initiatives, while Secretary Atul Shrivastava noted that the event marked 25 years of CGMSA’s contribution to motorsport development in the region.

In other classes, Manikandan K (Coimbatore) won SX2, taking a one-point lead over Basil Sunny (Ernakulam). Banteilang Jyrwa (Shillong) took top honours in Indian Experts, while Abhi S Nath (Kerala) claimed the Private Expert category. Coimbatore’s Kathiroli of Hero Motosports won the Novice class.

Among the juniors, Jinendra Sangave (Ichalkaranje) won Junior SX1, Bhairav Gowda (Bengaluru) dominated Junior SX2, and Vismay Ram (Bengaluru) topped Junior SX3. In the local category, Gurvinder Singh Jabbal of Raipur won on his Hero Xpulse.

Best Rider of the Race: Shlok Ghorpade (KTM Factory Racing – India).The championship next moves to Visakhapatnam (Nov 30) before the final round in Kerala.
