Over 50 riders and drivers in Electric Vehicles were part of the first World Electric Vehicle Day ride initiated by the Government of Karnataka in the presence of Shalini Rajnish- ACS, Department of Youth Development and Planning was celebrated under UNDP ( United Nations Development Program ) from Kanteerava Stadium to Jakkur in Bengaluru. The short distance of about 14kms was flagged off by Shri V Sunil Kumar- Honourable Minister for Kannada, Culture and Energy , Shri Muniratna - Honourable Minister for Horticulture, Planning program Monitoring and Statistics , Shri K.C Narayana Gowda - Honourable Minster for Youth Empowerment and Sports. Participated in full strength was from She for Society and manufacturers like Ather Energy, Yulu, Tata Motors, MG Hector, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz, Lightning and Vpower.
Also present during this occasion was Aravind KP Rider from TVS Racing and first runner-up of Big Boss Kannada season 8 along with vetren rallist CK Chinnappa.
