A record 124 entries in the MRF Rally of Coorg

The season opener of the MRF Mogrip FMSCI National Rally Championship for 2 wheelers 2023 peaked to a new high with a record number of 124 entries. The Rally of Coorg organised by AceEvents and promoted by God Speed will be flagged off from Abbydhana Estate Home Stay and the two stages will be run thrice, cutting across within the dirt windings of coffee estates, so the first two rounds of the championship will be run within the coffee estates. With entries still tickling in, the organisers Ace Events have decided to close the entries.

The record 124 entries includes participants from across India and it is a very encouraging sign that lot more participants are seen from North India and North Eastern States. There are 9 competitors in Group 1A and it is overwhelming to see few privateers for the first time, the ladies class entries is expected to touch the double figures, the major boost was in the Novice class- which was just formed for the beginners a year back where Aakash Aithal was very instrumental in its formation has over 25 entries, which means the inflow of new comers have slowly cropped up. This rally has about 9 riders from TVS Racing and 4 from Hero Motorsports and 15 privateers sponsored by VM Sports Foundation.

With temperature to be around 28 degree Centigrade during the weekend adds to the positivity of the sport. Year on year as this sports is growing upwards, this record entries should be a much needed booster.
